Meet some of our 2016 Graduate Trainees

Gerard Dempsey, Product Design

Aoife Purcell

Bachelor of Business Studies,
Marketing Major and Management Minor, QCA

I am from Clonmel in Co. Tipperary and I have recently graduated from the University of Limerick with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies majoring in Marketing. I have a passion for travelling and I am a keen hockey player. In 2016, I joined Ornua as an intern on the Kerrygold Irish Cream Liqueur team. Completing this internship allowed me to attain valuable experience and insight into both the dairy and food industry. The opportunity also made me realise that I would love to work for Ireland’s largest dairy exporter as I start my career. I am excited to be a part of the Ornua Graduate Programme. I hope to build upon my knowledge within the company and industry, to continually develop my personal skills and to begin an exciting and successful career

CAIT MENNIS,B.Sc. Food Marketing and Entrepreneurship

Kathryn Henry

B.Sc. (Hons) Food Quality,
Safety & Nutrition

I come from County Armagh, also known as the Orchard county. Coming from an agricultural background and growing up helping in the family grocery and flower business, I’ve always been passionate about Irish produce and believe it to be among the best in the world. This passion led me to pursue a role in the food and drinks industry. My previous work experience has involved roles in technical, quality and new product development at both retailer and manufacturer level, as well as a role in brand management for a Chinese drinks company in Shanghai. Travel is another passion of mine and I’ll be joining Ornua after a memorable summer spent travelling Indonesia and the East Coast of Australia. I’m delighted to be joining Ornua as one of their graduates and look forward to building on my knowledge of the industry to become an asset to the company as well as the opportunity to combine my two passions, food and travel.
